Attorney Servet Yildiz Stêrk has represented a Danish locum doctor in a supervisory case with the County Governor of Trøndelag.
The case concerned the treatment of a 12-year-old's ingrown toenail, where the doctor used an assistant without a healthcare background. The County Governor concluded that there was a violation of the Health Personnel Act, confidentiality obligations, and the medical records regulations.
Attorney Stêrk argued that the assistant was merely an observer and that all treatment was performed by the doctor himself. The case highlights important questions about the use of assistants and consent in healthcare.
